The hotel was built in 1902 on the site of the spring reputed to have
been used by the early Portuguese explorers. Recently totally modernised, the
hotel offers spacious accommodation in single, double and two-bedroom family
suites, all with en-suite bathroom, radio's and tea/coffee making facilities.
Many of the rooms overlook the gardens and are particularly cool, even on the
hottest day. Sheltered from the prevailing ocean winds, the hotel is close to
the popular West beach where the bathing is of the best on this, Sunshine Coast.
